The October 18, 2024 CBR interview indexed under the headline “We Can’t Do Season 1 Again” concerns Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 2. Its available summary describes a more mature season, with greater violence, emotional depth, character growth and higher stakes for the Nublar Six. It does not provide the showrunners’ explanation for the headline or specific examples of their creative decisions.
What the Season 2 interview summary says
A Muck Rack index entry for CBR’s interview, attributed to Michael Crichton and Sam Stone, frames Season 2 as distinct from Season 1. The summary characterizes the later season as more mature, with increased violence and gore, deeper character development, and higher stakes for the Nublar Six. It also points to individual character growth, relationships and new global conspiracies as areas of focus. See the Muck Rack index entry.
Those are summary points, not verified verbatim remarks from the interview. They indicate the broad direction described for the season, but do not establish particular scenes, plot turns or production choices.
What “We Can’t Do Season 1 Again” does—and doesn’t—tell us
The headline signals a conversation about how Season 2 differs from its predecessor. The available index does not identify which showrunner said the phrase, explain what prompted it, or provide the reasoning behind it. It would therefore be misleading to treat the headline as a full explanation of the creative approach.

- Scale-accurate! The Baryonyx measures 14 inches long and 5 inches tall, the Monolophosaurus is 7.25 inches long and 3.5 inches tall and Darius is 3.7 inches tall
- Great gift! This pack makes an exciting gift for any dinosaur lover, especially Jurassic Chaos Theory fans
- Discover and build! Scan both dinosaurs' hidden Tracking Codes in the free Jurassic Play App with a compatible smart device (not included) for AR activities and to create a digital dinosaur collection!
What can be said is narrower: the indexed summary presents Season 2 as aiming for a more mature tone and greater emotional and narrative stakes, rather than simply repeating Season 1’s approach. The source does not give enough detail to say exactly how that shift appears in the finished episodes.
Why the distinction matters for viewers
The summary’s emphasis on individual growth and relationships suggests that the Nublar Six’s personal arcs are part of the season’s focus alongside the global conspiracies. Its mention of increased violence and gore also signals a tonal change. The index does not quantify that change or identify specific episodes, so viewers should read these points as broad descriptions rather than a scene-by-scene account.
