What is reported is a March 2026 change to the desktop Updates page, described by a community member as adding a social feed. That description is not an independently verified product specification, and Wattpad’s app listing does not announce a specific new feature.
What Wattpad updates are confirmed?
Wattpad is a digital platform for reading and writing stories. Its app listing describes features including comments, reading lists, offline reading, chapter alerts and syncing across computers, phones and tablets. Wattpad also says its stories are available in over 25 languages. These are existing platform features, not a preview of future changes. Wattpad on Google Play
The listing’s “What’s new” text says “Bug fixes and performance improvements.” It does not specify a feature rollout or provide a roadmap. Its reported app update date is September 30, 2026; that date and wording do not confirm additional updates later in the year. Wattpad on Google Play
What is the new Wattpad Updates page?
A community post dated March 17, 2026 says Wattpad’s desktop “Updates” page replaced “Notifications” and combined a standard notifications feed with a “Social Feed.” According to the poster, the social feed showed when people a user followed added books to public reading lists. Wattpad’s official press-release index lists company and promotional announcements in 2026, including an August 28 anniversary announcement, an April 1 BookCon announcement and a March 9 ProWritingAid contest partnership.
