Netflix Tudum’s trailer page is titled “Unfrosted: Watch the Trailer for Jerry Seinfeld’s Pop Tart Movie.” Netflix described the movie as “A tale of ambition, betrayal, and sugar.” That is promotional copy for a comedy, not a documentary account of Pop-Tarts’ development.

What is Unfrosted about?
Set in Battle Creek, Michigan, in 1963, the film turns the rivalry between cereal companies Kellogg’s and Post into a comic race to create a new pastry. Seinfeld directs, co-wrote the screenplay, and stars as Bob Cabana, a fictional Kellogg’s product-development executive.

Is Unfrosted based on a true story?
It has a real historical starting point, but it is not a reliable reconstruction of events. Seinfeld told Netflix Tudum: “This really did happen in Battle Creek, Michigan, where Kellogg’s and Post were located, and they did compete to come up with this product.” He immediately qualified the movie’s treatment: “But the rest of it is complete lunacy.”

In other words, the companies’ competition and the Pop-Tart premise provide the historical kernel; the film’s characters and comic plot should be treated as fiction. Seinfeld told Tudum the filmmakers chose what was funny even when it did not make sense.

Pop-Tarts are the real pastry at the center of the premise, but the film is not a product-history documentary. If you are curious about the snack itself, Seinfeld told Tudum that brown sugar cinnamon is his favorite and that he prefers it toasted. That is his personal preference, not an objective ranking of flavors.

- EXTRA WIDE & LONG SLOTS FIT WHAT OTHER TOASTERS WON'T: Two long slots (10" × 1.5") fit full bagel halves flat, thick sourdough, Texas Toast, artisan loaves, English muffins, and waffles. Four full slices toast at once. Best results: always toast 2 slices per slot (one in each), with slices directly opposing each other for balanced heat distribution.
- 6 BROWNING SETTINGS — FROM BARELY WARM TO PERFECTLY DARK: A full dial from Level 1 (light, barely warm) to Level 6 (deep, dark, crunchy) gives you genuine control over your toast. New toaster tip: run one empty cycle at your preferred setting before first use — this clears manufacturing residue and delivers the most even browning from day one.
- REHEAT, DEFROST & CANCEL — THREE FUNCTIONS MOST TOASTERS SKIP: Reheat warms previously toasted bread at low heat without re-toasting or burning. Defrost goes straight from freezer to table in one cycle (great for frozen waffles, bagels, and French toast). One-touch Cancel stops and ejects immediately, anytime.
- BUILT-IN WARMING RACK HEATS PASTRIES WHILE YOU TOAST: Push down the warming rack lever and the rack pops up, ready to warm croissants, buns, rolls, and pitas on top while bread toasts below. Everything arrives at the table warm at the same moment — a feature most toasters at this price simply don't include.
- CORD STORAGE, SLIDE-OUT CRUMB TRAYS & HIGH-LIFT LEVER: The 36" cord wraps neatly into built-in base storage, keeping your counter clean. Slide-out crumb tray clicks out, empty in seconds, and clicks back in. The high-lift pop-up lever safely raises even small slices above the slot edge for easy retrieval. ETL certified. 1-Year Warranty backed by Elite Gourmet's US-based support team.
