Jon Hamm and Jimmy Fallon recreated Creed’s “With Arms Wide Open” music video in a sketch on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The segment was reported on November 18, 2024. It is a comedy bit: the two play fictional former members of Creed, and they perform the song in the style of frontman Scott Stapp. It is an imitation, not a new Creed performance.
What the sketch shows
The bit opens with Fallon asking Hamm a question about their supposed past. Hamm answers as if the history is settled. The joke rests on the two of them having shared a band and a music video together, and the recreation then follows from that premise.
The fictional backstory in the exchange
The dialogue, as reproduced by iHeartRadio, runs as follows. Attribute these lines to the on-air characters, not to either actor’s real career:
- Jimmy Fallon: “Do you remember when we used to be in Creed?”
- Jon Hamm: “Oh, of course I remember. We were the lead singer of the band Creed.”
- Jimmy Fallon: “Yeah. Yeah we did that one music video together on the Scottish glen.”
That glen-set video is the setup for the recreation. Once the memory is established, the pair performs the track, with Hamm and Fallon both imitating Stapp’s delivery.

Costumes and the original video
Coverage from ABC Audio and iHeartRadio describes both performers in brown wigs and yellow jackets that echo Stapp’s look in the 1999 original. iHeartRadio also ties the appearance to Hamm’s recent work on the series Landman, which is part of the on-air context rather than a costume reference. The sources do not identify a costume brand or a retailer for these pieces, so no purchasable match can be confirmed.
Where to watch
ABC Audio’s November 18, 2024 report links to both the sketch and the original Creed video. A contemporaneous ThePRP report from November 19, 2024 also links the Tonight Show clip and Creed’s official music-video upload. When you search, look for the clip on the show’s official channels, and confirm that the upload is the Tonight Show segment dated November 18, 2024, since the joke has been shared widely in clip form.

The song and the album
The song is “With Arms Wide Open,” the lead single from Creed’s 1999 album Human Clay. Some coverage has misspelled the title as “With Eyes Wide Open”; the correct title is “With Arms Wide Open.” Creed’s official website links its 1999 album entry to a Human Clay page with purchase options. If you want the song after watching the sketch, that album is the natural place to start. Availability and pricing on third-party stores were not verified for this article.
