Apple’s 2024 holiday ad, “Heartstrings,” follows a father with hearing loss as his daughter plays guitar at a family Christmas gathering. The film uses AirPods Pro 2’s Hearing Aid feature to bring the music—and the moment—into sharper focus.
Watch “Heartstrings”
Apple released “Heartstrings” for the 2024 holiday season. The short film centers on a family Christmas gathering and a father who seems distant while relatives exchange gifts and his daughter plays guitar. Brief memories of the daughter growing up give the present-day performance its emotional weight.
The father puts in AirPods Pro 2 and uses the Hearing Aid feature to hear his daughter more clearly. A shift in the sound perspective connects the device’s role in the story to the father’s renewed attention to the music and his family. MacRumors reported the ad’s release and its central product feature.
What song plays in the ad?
The song is “Our House,” originally written by Graham Nash. The recording in the ad is a cover, but reporting on the campaign does not identify the performer. The Drum’s campaign coverage identifies the song and its origins.

What the ad says about hearing loss
Apple’s video description says that people with hearing loss wait an average of 10 years before getting their hearing tested and fitted for hearing aids. MacRumors quoted Apple’s description. That is Apple’s stated figure; the underlying study and its publisher are not established in the cited reporting, so it should not be treated here as an independently verified statistic.
The ad’s story presents a personal use of the feature, not evidence that AirPods Pro 2 are suitable for every person with hearing loss or a substitute for individual hearing care.
