Bezos denied a widely circulated report that they would marry in Aspen in December 2024; they later held their wedding ceremony in Venice on June 27, 2025.
What was reported about the prenup?
In June 2025, Vanity Fair reported that a complex prenuptial agreement had reportedly been drawn up. Futurism attributed the claim that unfinished prenup papers changed Aspen plans to an unnamed insider account in Vanity Fair. Fortune also described the alleged delay as insider reporting.
That is a reported explanation, not a verified cause or a statement from Bezos or Sánchez. The public coverage does not establish that the couple had confirmed Aspen plans, that negotiations changed a wedding date, or what any agreement says.
What did Bezos say about the Aspen wedding?
On December 22, 2024, Bezos rejected a widely circulated report that he and Sánchez would marry in Aspen on December 28, with a reported $600 million event. As quoted by Mediaite, he wrote: “this whole thing is completely false — none of this is happening.” (Mediaite)

His post denied that specific public report. It does not disclose whether the couple had discussed other private plans. Vanity Fair later characterized the Aspen holiday wedding rumors as ultimately false. The denial therefore matters, but it does not independently settle what may or may not have been considered behind the scenes.
When and where did they get married?
The Associated Press reported that Venice confirmed it would host the wedding on March 29, 2025, without announcing a date at that point (AP, March 29). The AP later reported that Bezos and Sánchez held their wedding ceremony in Venice on June 27, 2025 (AP, June 27).

The eventual ceremony is documented; the reason for any earlier scheduling decisions is not. A later wedding in Venice does not prove that a prenup caused a change from an earlier plan.

Vanity Fair reported that an agreement had reportedly been drawn up, but the coverage does not publish the document or establish its provisions. Its existence and terms should not be treated as confirmed disclosures from the couple. No reliable conclusion about the agreement’s financial or other terms follows from the reports about timing.
Fortune noted that Bezos and MacKenzie Scott divorced in 2019 without a prenup. It also quoted divorce attorney Robert Cohen discussing why some high-profile couples may want legal protections. That is general context, not evidence of what Bezos and Sánchez negotiated or why they did so.
