Yes. Bruce Springsteen’s April 1, 2025, Instagram teaser pointed toward Tracks II: The Lost Albums, which he announced two days later. The seven-album collection was released June 27, 2025, so the post is a solved clue—not a current rumor.
What did Springsteen post?
In a report published April 2, 2025, Rolling Stone described a post on Springsteen’s official Instagram page showing a Thrill Hill Recording log sheet dated April 3. It carried the line “What Was Lost Has Now Been Found.” The post itself did not name a project, so Tracks II was a plausible guess at the time, not yet a confirmed answer.
On April 3, Springsteen’s announcement confirmed that the clue referred to Tracks II: The Lost Albums. The Associated Press reported that the announcement followed a short video teaser posted Wednesday morning, displaying the April 3 date and the words “What was lost has been found.” The AP report covered the announcement and its June 27 release date.
What is Tracks II: The Lost Albums?
Springsteen described the collection as seven previously unheard records spanning 35 years of his work. At release, the official page specified that the set contains 83 songs, 74 of which had never been released in any form. Those numbers matter: the official claim is not that all 83 songs were previously unheard or unreleased.

Springsteen explained why the collection is more than a pile of loose outtakes: “The Lost Albums were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released.” The seven projects give the set its range:
- LA Garage Sessions ’83: a lo-fi exploration.
- Streets of Philadelphia Sessions: songs shaped by drum loops and synthesizers.
- Faithless: music made for a film that was never produced.
- Somewhere North of Nashville: country sounds and pedal steel.
- Inyo: border tales.
- Perfect World: arena-ready E Street energy.
- Twilight Hours: an homage to American pop standards.
The full track and format details appear on Springsteen’s official release page.

How does Tracks II compare with the original Tracks?
The original Tracks, released in 1998, was a four-CD, 66-song collection of unreleased material, according to the Associated Press. The 2025 project takes a different shape: seven album-length works collected together, rather than a single set of loose archival recordings.
