Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
DiscussingFilm described an extended preview divided into three sections. Its account followed young Furiosa as she is taken from her mother and home and carried into the wasteland. The report identified George Miller as director and Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth among the cast. Taylor-Joy summed up the character’s story this way: “This is the story of one woman’s relentless commitment to impossible hope,” as quoted by the Associated Press.
These were descriptions of footage shown to CinemaCon attendees, not a publicly released version of the preview.

Joker: Folie à Deux
DiscussingFilm reported that director Todd Phillips presented the film’s first official teaser at the event. The Associated Press reported Phillips’s comments on the movie’s music: “It’s a movie where music is an essential element,” he said, adding, “To me that doesn’t veer very far from the first film.” He resisted simply labeling it a musical.
Mickey 17
The Associated Press reported that director Bong Joon-ho showed a trailer for the film starring Robert Pattinson. The event-era plan was for a January 2025 release; that was the schedule reported at CinemaCon, not a current listing.

Horizon: An American Saga
Costner presented his two-part Western, serving as director, co-writer and star. The Associated Press reported the event’s theatrical schedule: Part 1 was set for June 28, 2024, and Part 2 for August 16, 2024. Those dates describe the plan announced at the time. Costner framed the story around westward expansion: “It was the promise that if you could come west, if you could survive it, you could make a home at the expense of a lot of things,” he said. “To me, that’s drama.”
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Tim Burton and Michael Keaton promoted the sequel. The Associated Press noted the return of Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara, alongside new characters played by Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe and Justin Theroux. The then-planned theatrical opening was September 5, 2024.

Superman and Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story
The Associated Press also reported on these items as part of the broader slate. James Gunn was making a new Superman for a planned summer 2025 release, and Warner Bros. was set to release the documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story in September. How to interpret the CinemaCon footage reports
CinemaCon is an industry convention for theater owners and film professionals; the 2024 event was not open to the public, according to DiscussingFilm. The outlet also reported that exclusive footage and first-look reveals were not publicly released. As a result, coverage of attendee-only material is a reporter’s description of what was shown, not something readers can independently inspect in a public video. Public trailers and private presentation footage should not be treated as interchangeable.

Box-office context cited during the presentation
The Associated Press reported that Warner Bros. domestic distribution president Jeff Goldstein said Wonka, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The Color Purple, all released in December 2023, had cumulatively grossed more than $1 billion globally. AP also attributed to Goldstein the claim that Warner Bros. accounted for approximately 50% of the box office at Christmas. These are figures attributed to a studio executive in the 2024 report, not independently audited measurements of the CinemaCon presentation’s results.
