When and where is the Rose Parade?
The Pasadena Tournament of Roses lists the 138th Rose Parade for January 1, 2027, with an 8 a.m. start. Its 5.5-mile route begins at Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard, heads north on Orange Grove, turns east onto Colorado Boulevard, then proceeds north on Sierra Madre Boulevard toward Villa Street. The Tournament says the parade moves at about 2.5 miles per hour; Visit Pasadena estimates it takes about two hours to pass a particular viewing point.

Reserved grandstand seats
Reserved seating is sold through Sharp Seating. The Visit Pasadena guide lists a 2026 price range of $82–$133; that is not a confirmed 2027 price. Check the Sharp Seating ticket page for current 2027 availability, prices and its clear-bag policy.

For grandstands on Orange Grove between Colorado and Green, the Tournament’s Parade Day Guide recommends arriving by 6:30 a.m. A ticket is required to enter the Tournament security zone, and patrons may be searched. Arrival recommendations can vary by grandstand location, so follow the instructions for your ticket.
Free curbside viewing
Viewing from the curb does not require a ticket, but space and access are subject to crowd conditions, route restrictions and the event’s camping rules. Visit Pasadena’s guide says curbside camping begins at noon on December 31 and the blue honor-line migration begins at 11 p.m. Because that guidance is labeled for 2026, verify the 2027 schedule and rules before arriving early.

Get there by transit, car or RV
Metro
The Tournament recommends Metro’s A Line. Its event page places Del Mar and Memorial Park stations about two blocks from the route, and Lake and Allen about four blocks away. Metro buses also serve the area, according to Visit Pasadena. Confirm event-day hours, service changes and station parking with Metro before setting out.

Driving and parking
The Tournament’s Parade Day Guide says vehicle closures begin at 10 p.m. on December 31 and continue through 2 p.m. on January 1. Visit Pasadena’s parking guide, explicitly labeled for 2026, advises parking before 6 a.m., following posted signs rather than relying on GPS, and avoiding parking on the parade route, where vehicles may be towed. Recheck the 2027 closure and public-access maps before traveling.
Advance parking for cars, buses and RVs is available through providers linked from the Tournament’s event page; paid lots and structures may also be available on a first-come basis. Check the specific provider’s restrictions and access instructions, and choose parking with your viewing location in mind. Visit Pasadena’s 2026 parking and transportation guide offers visitor detail, but its directions are not confirmation of 2027 arrangements.

Accessibility and street-level viewing
The Tournament describes three free street-level viewing areas for people with disabilities, with up to four guests per disabled visitor. One area offers audio description for visitors who are visually impaired and sign-language interpretation. These locations do not have seats; the official guide says visitors should bring their own chairs or cushions. Limited wheelchair-accessible grandstand seating is sold through Sharp Seating.

What to bring and what to leave behind
- Warm layers: Visit Pasadena advises overnight spectators to bring warm clothing, hats and gloves.
- Rain protection: The visitor guide says umbrellas are prohibited along the route, including in ticketed grandstands, and recommends rain ponchos, rain jackets or hats instead. A packable poncho is a practical option; this is not a prediction of rain.
- Seating for accessible street-level areas: Those areas have no seats, so bring a chair or cushion if needed.
- Leave tents, ladders and unattended chairs at home: These are among the restrictions listed in Visit Pasadena’s 2026 guidance. Pets are not allowed except properly identified service animals.
