Virginia Giuffre was discharged from Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth on April 7, 2025, her representative confirmed to People. The representative did not provide further details about her health. Giuffre died in Western Australia on April 25, aged 41, according to the Associated Press; the reporting does not establish that the collision caused her later death.

What was reported about Giuffre’s discharge

People reported on April 7 that Giuffre had left Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, citing confirmation from her representative, Dini von Mueffling. The report did not include a diagnosis, a description of her injuries, or an explanation of the treatment she received. People’s discharge report

What was known about the collision and her condition

In earlier coverage, von Mueffling told the BBC that Giuffre had been in a “serious accident” and was receiving hospital care. That statement confirmed the representative’s account of the situation at the time; it did not identify a diagnosis or establish the medical cause of Giuffre’s condition. The publicly reported accounts of the collision differed in emphasis. The BBC reported that Western Australia police records showed a minor collision between a bus and a car on March 24, with no injuries reported from that crash. ABC Australia also reported that police described the collision as minor and that the hospital listed Giuffre’s condition as stable. ABC said her family reported that she returned home before later going to hospital. ABC Australia’s account

What the public accounts do not establish

The reports do not include medical records or independently establish what injuries or illness led to Giuffre’s hospitalization. A police account describing a minor collision does not, by itself, explain a later medical condition; a representative’s description of an accident as serious does not prove that the collision caused a particular diagnosis.

Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, told People that he did not know specifically what had happened internally to her. His comments should not be read as a medical finding or as confirmation that all her injuries resulted from the bus collision. People’s report on Roberts’s comments

What happened after the discharge report

The discharge was a short-lived update in a tragic timeline: the Associated Press reported that Giuffre died in Western Australia on April 25, 2025, at age 41. The published accounts cited here do not establish a causal connection between the March collision and her death. Associated Press report on Giuffre’s death
