NYT Connections puzzle #732 was published on Thursday, June 12, 2025. The guide below gives progressively stronger clues first, followed by the complete answers in a clearly marked spoiler section.
How NYT Connections works
The New York Times describes Connections this way: “Players are given 16 words and must find groups of four items that share something in common.” You sort all 16 entries into four groups of four. The four category colors are Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple, with Yellow intended to be easiest and Purple the most difficult.
There is one intended solution, but the words can be deliberately chosen to fit more than one apparent category. That ambiguity is why it helps to look for a precise relationship rather than a merely plausible one.

#1 Best Overall
Yellow hint
Two become one. Think of forms of physical closeness.
Green hint
Tittle tattling. This group concerns passing along talk about other people.
Rank #2
Blue hint
Think words that rhyme with “weedle” and “sin.” The connection involves activities and equipment used with pins or needles.
Purple hint
Begin with honorifics. Look at what can appear at the start of each word, rather than only at the complete word’s meaning.

Additional clue sequence
For another gradual route, Forbes’ date-specific guide uses these prompts:
- Yellow: Get closer.
- Green: Did you hear what I heard?
- Blue: Foresting and putting up notices, perhaps.
- Purple: Let’s maybe not keep it casual here.
Its representative examples are SPOONING, DISHING, BOWLING and MISSING, one from each group.

Why the blue group works
The blue set links activities involving pins or needles: bowling uses pins, acupuncture uses needles, sewing uses needles, and wrestling involves pinning an opponent.
