Akshay Roy wrote and directed the film, with Maneesh Sharma as producer. Anupam Kher leads the cast, alongside Chunky Panday and Mihir Ahuja. The official promotional line, “Sapno ki koi expiry date nahi hoti” (“Dreams do not have an expiry date”), captures the intended message, but promotional framing is not the same as the film’s success in bringing that message to life.
Does the story make Vijay’s mission believable?
That is the film’s main test: the training, setbacks and personal transformation need to feel earned for the triathlon goal to carry dramatic weight. In her 8 November 2024 review for Scroll, Nandini Ramnath argues that the film does not make Vijay’s training and transformation credible enough. She also says the script introduces obstacles it does not convincingly resolve, with a Hindi film song taking a starring role in a crucial contest as a particularly striking example.

The premise invites a story about age, ambition and persistence. But an uplifting idea needs more than a determined protagonist: the film also has to make the progress, relationships and setbacks feel plausible. The critiques from Scroll and India Today suggest a gap between the intended age-defying inspiration and the drama on screen. Viewers drawn to the premise may find the idea more persuasive than the screenplay’s route to it.
