In August 2023, singer Sunidhi Chauhan posted a dance video set to CKay’s “Emiliana” with choreographer Sherlyn Fernandes. Contemporaneous coverage described the clip as her entry into a popular social media dance challenge. The reports are dated August 2023, and this article reflects only what they said at that time.
The video and its partner
The clip shows Chauhan dancing with Fernandes, whom the coverage identifies as a choreographer. The reports establish Fernandes as Chauhan’s dance partner in this video. They do not provide detailed choreography credits for it, so readers should not assume who designed the routine.
What each outlet reported
Three outlets covered the video within two days of each other. Their accounts agree on the song, the partner and the challenge framing, but they differ on the platform and the post date.
| Outlet | Published | Platform and date of post as reported | What it contributed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scroll.in | Aug. 9, 2023 | X post dated Aug. 8, 2023 | Reproduced the X post, including the caption with emoji and hashtags, and described the event as joining a popular challenge. |
| NDTV | Aug. 9, 2023 | Instagram post (per NDTV) | Attributed the song to CKay’s “Emiliana” and linked to the Instagram post. |
| Hindustan Times | Aug. 10, 2023 | Not stated | Described the video and collaborator, quoted the caption, and reported view and like counts at that time. |
The reports do not explain whether the clip appeared on both X and Instagram, or whether one outlet was describing a different upload. Readers who need the original post should check Chauhan’s own accounts rather than relying on any single report.

The caption, as each outlet printed it
The caption is the one directly quoted line in the coverage, and the outlets reproduced it differently:
- Scroll.in (X post, Aug. 8, 2023): “Here’s Mangal (Tuesday) ka Dangal for you🪩😉#dancecover #sunidhichauhan.”
- NDTV (described as an Instagram caption): “Here’s Mangal (Tuesday) ka Dangal for you.”
The wording is the same in both. The differences are the emoji and hashtags, which only Scroll.in included, and the apostrophe in “Here’s,” which NDTV printed as a straight mark. The caption’s “Mangal (Tuesday) ka Dangal” is a playful reference to the day of the week, and the reports did not explain it further.

The 2023 reports called the dance a popular or viral social media challenge. That description belongs to the coverage at the time. The reports do not establish who started the challenge, when its choreography first appeared, how many people took part, or whether it is still being performed. Nothing in the coverage shows that the trend remains active in 2026.
