Who is the musician, and what is the video?
Louis Cardozo is a Bristol-based musician. His video for “Fly” shows him playing a piano while paragliding, an unusual image that turns the song’s title into a literal part of the performance. Scroll introduced the video in January 2024, and ARK Media identifies Mere, Wiltshire, as the filming location.
Scroll’s report on the video and ARK Media’s footage record describe the stunt.
How did the flying piano work?
A custom-built instrument setup
According to Yahoo Entertainment’s June 2024 account, the team bought a second-hand baby grand, removed its interior to reduce weight, and fitted it with a steel frame and an electric keyboard. ARK Media describes a canopy attached to the piano’s edges, wheels on its legs, and a manufactured seat attached to the makeshift aircraft. The sources describe a bespoke modification, not a standard flying piano or off-the-shelf rig; no primary technical documentation for the build is available in these accounts.

Yahoo says the project involved about three years of engineering, experimentation, and trial and error. An early version, called Eagle 3000, flew briefly but was considered rough and bulky. Cardozo and the team revised the frame and waited for suitable wind before making later flights. These construction details are reported by Yahoo from Cardozo’s making-of video, rather than independently verified engineering specifications.
The performance was assembled from several flights
Yahoo reports that the team made eight flights to capture footage for the three-minute promotional video. A hidden speaker allowed Cardozo to play in time with the recorded track. The final edit is not one continuous performance or take: it combines footage from those flights.
