What the first glimpse shows
The nearly four-minute announcement video provides a visual introduction to a time-travel adventure drawing on Hindu mythology. At the launch, plot details were still under wraps, so the teaser is best understood as an introduction to the film’s scale and premise rather than a full account of its story.
The title reveal was staged on a screen measuring 110 by 130 feet (33.5 by 39.5 meters), according to the Associated Press, which reported that thousands attended. Mahesh Babu called the film “a once-in-a-lifetime project” after the unveiling, the AP reported.

The film is directed by S. S. Rajamouli and stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Varanasi release date and IMAX plans
The Associated Press reported an expected 2027 release and planned IMAX exhibition. NDTV subsequently reported that the makers announced April 7, 2027, as the release date on January 30, 2026. Release plans can change, so that date should be treated as the announced schedule, not a guarantee.
Teaser versus theatrical trailer
The video’s published title calls it an “Official Announcement Teaser Trailer,” while the Associated Press describes it as the film’s first glimpse. Those descriptions establish the November 2025 announcement video; they do not establish that a separate, full theatrical trailer has been released.
