Vanna White and John Donaldson married in a private ceremony, White announced on Instagram in January 2026. Her marriage followed reports of a raise tied to her Wheel of Fortune contract renewal in 2023, but no available source connects the raise to the couple’s decision to marry.
Did Vanna White marry her longtime boyfriend?
Yes. On January 22, 2026, White announced that she and Donaldson had married privately. In the announcement, as reproduced by the Los Angeles Times, she wrote: “Surprise! We got married!” She said they had been in love “for more than a decade” and had decided “a little while back” to make it official.
The couple met in 2012, according to the Los Angeles Times’ account of a People report. White said in a 2023 People interview that they had been together for 12 years and that she felt as though they were already married. She added that they were comfortable in their relationship without a wedding. Her later announcement marks a change from that position, but she did not say the decision was prompted by her pay.
What was reported about White’s Wheel of Fortune raise?
In September 2023, Sony Pictures Television announced that White had extended her contract for two additional seasons, through the 2025–26 season, according to the Associated Press. Fortune reported that the renewal came with a raise—her first in 18 years—but said the amount had not been reported.

That means the 2023 raise was reported, but its size is not established in the cited coverage. It should not be confused with a later media estimate of her income under the renewed contract.
How much does Vanna White make?
In March 2025, Fortune reported that White’s annual income under the 2025–26 contract was $10 million. This is a figure reported by the outlet, not a contract amount publicly disclosed by Sony or White; the available sources do not provide the agreement’s complete compensation terms.

Fortune also reported White’s statement that Wheel of Fortune films for about 34 days a year, with six episodes filmed per day. That schedule offers context for the reported income, but it does not reveal the contract’s full pay structure or establish what portion of her income comes from the show.
Did the raise lead to the marriage?
The known timeline does not establish a connection. The raise was reported alongside White’s contract renewal in September 2023. That October, White said she and Donaldson were comfortable without marriage. Their marriage was announced in January 2026. Neither White’s announcement nor the cited reporting says the raise caused or prompted the wedding.
