Square Enix announced an October 22, 2026 release for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Its Japanese announcement lists the Steam release as October 23. Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World
For players drawn to party composition and turn-based monster battles, this is a genre-adjacent option. GamesRadar describes it as a monster-raising and breeding RPG, rather than a match for Clair Obscur’s visual direction. The outlet lists a December 3, 2026 release for PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. That timing and platform list come from a secondary roundup, so confirm them with the publisher before relying on them.

Edge of Memories
GamesRadar lists Edge of Memories for November 5, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, describing a fantasy RPG with anime-like art and a party of companions. Its potential overlap is the story-led fantasy and party-RPG side of Clair Obscur’s appeal. The available description does not establish turn-based combat, so don’t choose it on that assumption.
Phantom Blade Zero
This is a weaker mechanical match but may appeal if what stayed with you was a stylized world and dramatic story. Two tempting additions do not belong on a 2026 release list based on the available announcements. Epic Games Store’s October 8, 2026 Triple-i announcement gives Outward 2 an early-access date of February 8, 2027. It also mentions an update to the existing game Astral Ascent featuring Clair Obscur characters; an update is not a new RPG contender.
For context on the benchmark game’s audience, UDON Entertainment said in a March 2026 art-book announcement that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had captivated more than 3 million players just weeks after release. That is UDON’s attributed figure, not a current player count or an independently verified total. UDON and Pix’n Love also announced a 352-page hardcover art book, The Art of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, for November 2026; check its current release status if you are interested in the book rather than an upcoming game.
