When did Universal Epic Universe open?
Universal announced that Epic Universe would open on May 22, 2025, in its October 17, 2024 announcement. The resort confirmed the park’s opening on that date in its May 22, 2025 opening-day release. Universal reported that thousands of guests arrived as early as 6 a.m. and that the park officially opened at approximately 8 a.m.; those timing details come from the company’s account of opening day.
Karen Irwin, president and chief operating officer of Universal Orlando Resort, said at the opening: “This is an incredibly exciting day as we officially unveil Universal Epic Universe to the world.” That was an executive’s opening-day statement, not an independent assessment of the guest experience.
