Under Paris 2 is scheduled to arrive on Netflix in 2027. The sequel reunites Bérénice Bejo and Nassim Lyes, with Alexandre Aja directing, and moves the story three years beyond the first film’s Paris triathlon disaster. Netflix has not announced an exact release date.
When does Under Paris 2 come out?
Netflix France announced the sequel for 2027 on May 1, 2026. Its release calendar gives no month or day, so a more precise date has not been established in the official materials available. Netflix France’s release and production calendar lists the film, while Le Parisien’s report covers the announcement.

Who is directing, and who is returning?
Alexandre Aja directs. Netflix France credits the screenplay to Aja, Gregory Levasseur, Frédéric Garcia, William Laboury, Xavier Gens, and Fanny Talmone, with Aja and Levasseur also credited for the adaptation.
The announced cast includes returning stars Bérénice Bejo and Nassim Lyes, alongside Guillaume Gouix, Philippe Bas, Manon Bresch, and Anne Marivin. Netflix’s official title page identifies the film as a French thriller and creature feature.

What is Under Paris 2 about?
The sequel takes place three years after the first film’s triathlon disaster. The center of Paris is submerged, and Sophia and Adil reunite for a dangerous mission to track Lilith in the shark-infested Seine. Their search leads them to discover that the dangerous wildlife is concealing a more surprising reality, according to Netflix France’s official synopsis.

The 2024 original follows marine biologist Sophia, river-police commander Adil, and activist Mika as a shark appears in the Seine before an international triathlon. Its ending leaves Paris flooded and Lilith and other sharks alive. Netflix’s guide to the original describes the premise and central cast; the film is listed on Netflix’s title page.
The fully submerged setting follows an idea director Xavier Gens discussed before a sequel was announced. In a June 2024 Netflix Tudum ending explainer, he said, “If there is a sequel, it will take place in a Paris that is entirely submerged under water.” That was an earlier hypothetical, not a new production statement; Netflix has since confirmed a sequel with that flooded-city premise.
