“Undead cartoons” is a broad label, not one franchise: it can mean a comedy led by zombie characters, adult animation about an undead family, or a spooky episode in a fantasy series. These examples differ sharply in audience and tone, and some are only adjacent to the undead rather than zombie shows.

What to watch for, depending on your taste
For a child-friendly zombie premise
Mariachi Zombie is the clearest match in concept: its 2015 announcement describes a children’s comedy centered on a reanimated mariachi whose peace and music are disrupted by neighboring humans. Rob Davies, then Atomic Cartoons’ VP of Development, said, “This quirky show really appealed to me because of my love for Mexican music and folklore-rich storytelling.” The announcement documents a project in development, however, not a currently available show.
For adult animation
Teenage Euthanasia is the adult-oriented option in this set. Warner Bros. Discovery describes it as a comedy set in near-future Florida, following the undead adventures of the Fantasy family; PFFR produced it and Atomic Cartoons handled animation. The cited press release is about the season-two premiere in 2023, not a current viewing guide.
For a spooky episode within a kids’ series
The Hollow is a better fit if you want a broader fantasy series rather than a show built around zombies. Its “Undead” episode description places the friends in a ghost town where they realize they are not alone. Netflix classifies the title as kids’ television and lists two seasons; check the service’s catalog in your region for present availability.

For supernatural comedy rather than zombies
Beetlejuice: The Animated Series belongs on an expanded list of undead cartoons because of its supernatural world, but it should not be mistaken for a zombie-centered series. SYFY Wire’s feature discusses its adaptation of the Tim Burton film and the Neitherworld setting.
How to choose among them
- Audience: The cited sources identify Mariachi Zombie as intended for ages 7–11, Teenage Euthanasia as adult animation, and The Hollow as kids’ television. The Beetlejuice feature establishes its supernatural adaptation premise but does not give a comparable audience rating.
- How central the undead are: In Mariachi Zombie, zombies are protagonists. In Teenage Euthanasia, undead adventures define the family comedy. For The Hollow, the undead reference is tied to a single episode; for Beetlejuice, the evidence supports a supernatural setting, not a zombie premise.
- Status evidence: A development announcement, a dated season-premiere press release, and a current platform listing are different kinds of evidence. They should not be treated as interchangeable proof that a title is currently available to watch.
- Episode format: Only the Mariachi Zombie development announcement gives a plan—52 episodes of 11 minutes each. Comparable episode-length information is not stated in the cited sources for the other examples.
Scope of this list
These four examples show why the phrase “undead cartoons” can point to very different things: a zombie-led children’s concept, adult comedy, one spooky installment in a kids’ fantasy series, or a supernatural adaptation. They are examples, not a definitive catalogue of animated works featuring zombies or other undead characters.
