Ukraine’s documentary LANDING, about young people building a DIY skatepark in the frontline city of Okhtyrka, is scheduled for a Brussels screening on October 27, 2026, before entering the competitive program of the Paris Surf and Skateboard Film Festival, scheduled for November 27–29. The itinerary was reported by UNITED24 Media, citing a press release from the film’s creators.

What LANDING is about

The documentary follows the creation of Krytka, a DIY skatepark in Okhtyrka, a city in Ukraine’s Sumy region. According to UNITED24 Media, local young people built the park amid Russia’s full-scale invasion. The report identifies the Street Culture Development Center, an Okhtyrka-based Ukrainian NGO, as the team behind the film.

That premise places youth culture and community creativity at the center of the story. The report does not provide details about the film’s length, director, release format, or distribution.

What is scheduled in Brussels

UNITED24 Media reports that a special screening is scheduled at Beursschouwburg on October 27, 2026, with support from the European Endowment for Democracy. The program is reported to include a screening, panel discussion, exhibition, and networking event.

Panel and exhibition

Reported panel participants are Pavlo Ihnatchenko, founder of the Street Culture Development Center; Anton Nazarko, co-founder of the Kharkiv-based Some People platform; and Monica Urian, described in the report as a representative of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC).

The accompanying exhibition is described as black-and-white photographs of life in frontline Okhtyrka from 2023 to 2025, with local children and teenagers adding paint, markers, and graffiti to the images.

Paris festival selection

After Brussels, LANDING is reported to be part of the competitive program at the 11th Paris Surf and Skateboard Film Festival (PSSFF), scheduled for November 27–29, 2026, at La Gaîté Lyrique. The report says it will compete in the Best Skateboard Film category.

The film’s earlier international appearance

Before the reported Brussels and Paris events, the film had its international premiere at Suomifornia in Helsinki, Finland. UNITED24 Media says the Ukrainian team presented the project there and discussed challenges facing young people in communities near the frontline.
