There is no verified “15 best Ufotable anime according to IMDb” list that can be taken off the shelf. IMDb’s search tools can sort animation results by user rating, but those results are not filtered to one studio, so a studio-only top 15 has to be assembled title by title, with a fixed capture date and a stated counting rule. This guide explains which Ufotable titles qualify, how to count seasons, films and compilations so the list stays consistent, and how to read IMDb scores once you have them.
What can and cannot be confirmed
Two things are established. Ufotable’s official works catalog lists its productions, including titles from the Demon Slayer and Fate franchises. IMDb offers advanced title searches that can be sorted by user rating, including broad animation and anime-keyword searches and separate TV-series results.

What is not established is a studio-specific IMDb order. A broad IMDb search for animation returns Demon Slayer film records alongside titles from every other studio, so a sorted results page shows where a title sits among all anime, not where it sits among Ufotable’s works. A numbered list with exact scores would also go stale quickly, because IMDb user ratings and vote counts change over time. For that reason this guide does not print a numbered order or score table. It gives you the method to produce one that you can check and date.
Rule 1: Count only verified Ufotable productions
Before a title can enter the list, its Ufotable role should be confirmed from one of these sources:
#1 Best Overall
- Ufotable’s official works catalog, which lists the productions the studio presents as its own.
- The production or company credits shown on the IMDb title page itself.
Fan rankings, aggregator pages and “similar studio” lists do not count as confirmation, even when they name the same titles. If a title’s studio credit is unclear, leave it out until it can be confirmed, and say so in the list’s notes.
The franchises the list starts from
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
Demon Slayer appears in Ufotable’s official catalog. On IMDb it is not a single entry: the animation search returns Demon Slayer film records as separate titles, and series seasons and films have their own pages. Each of these pages needs its own line in the list under the counting rule below. Before choosing a starting point, check the official catalog for the order in which the seasons and films were released, because IMDb pages are listed by title and do not always show that sequence.
Rank #2
Fate titles
Ufotable’s catalog also includes Fate adaptations. This franchise spans several series and films, each with its own IMDb page. Do not assume that one rating covers the whole franchise. Read the page for each Fate entry separately and note which ones are series and which are films.
Rule 2: Decide how each format counts
The most common source of an inconsistent “best of” list is counting the same franchise in different ways. Choose one rule and apply it to every title.
Rank #3
| Format | Suggested counting rule | Risk if left undefined |
|---|---|---|
| Series with one IMDb series page | One entry for the series | None in most cases |
| Seasons or cours with their own IMDb pages | Choose one: one entry per season page, or one entry for the series using its main page. State the choice in the list. | A single franchise can take several of the available places |
| Feature films | One entry per film | A film with a small number of votes can rank above series with far more ratings |
| Compilation films (edited versions of an existing series) | Count only if IMDb lists the compilation as its own title and it is not a recap of an entry already on the list | The same episodes are counted twice |
How to rebuild the ranking yourself
- Fix the capture date. Write the date on the list before you open any IMDb page. Every score belongs to that date.
- Build the candidate set. Start from Ufotable’s official works catalog and keep only titles that pass Rule 1.
- Open each title page on IMDb. Search the title on imdb.com, open its page, and record the displayed user rating, the vote count and the page’s URL.
- Apply the counting rule. Group seasons, films and compilations according to Rule 2 so that no release is counted twice and no franchise is counted without a reason.
- Sort by rating. Use IMDb’s advanced title search sorted by user rating only to check your order against other titles. Do not use a broad animation or anime-keyword results page as if it filtered to Ufotable.
- Recheck before you publish or cite. Confirm the same titles, on the same day, before any number is quoted, and update the capture date if you change it.
Reading IMDb scores in a studio list
- The rating is a user measure. It reflects how IMDb users rated a title. It is not a critical verdict on animation craft, direction or adaptation quality.
- Vote counts matter. A title with few votes can sit near the top for reasons that have little to do with how many people have seen it. Show the vote count beside every rating.
- Small gaps are noise. Treat small differences in rating as unreliable unless the vote counts are both large.
- Scores move. A new season, a film release or a wave of voting can shift a title’s rating after the capture date, so a list should always carry that date.
Choosing a starting point without a numbered list
If you want to start watching now, choose a franchise first: Demon Slayer or Fate. Then choose between its series and films using the catalog’s release order and each title’s IMDb page, and read the vote count before trusting the rating.
