U2Songs.com also reports that the video draws on footage from multiple dates: material filmed before Sphere opened, drone footage from early in the residency, and footage filmed at Sphere in January 2024. That account means the later video should not be treated as proof that every shot came from one uninterrupted performance on Grammy night. These production details come from secondary reporting, rather than an official Academy production account.

No. V-U2: An Immersive Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas is a separate work about U2’s U2:UV residency. Sphere Entertainment announced it in August 2024 for screenings beginning September 5, 2024; it was directed by The Edge and Morleigh Steinberg. The company described the residency as drawing over 700,000 fans from more than 100 countries across 40 sold-out dates—figures about the residency, not Grammy viewership or attendance. Sphere Entertainment’s announcement also quotes The Edge discussing the film: “The goal was to give the immersive movie goers as close to the live U2:UV concert experience as possible — and then some. I’ve never seen a U2 show. I’m so relieved I caught a great one.”
Rank #2
The Academy’s “first broadcast performance” phrasing is its billing for the appearance; it is not an independently established historical superlative.
