TWICE’s youngest member, Tzuyu, released her first solo mini album, abouTZU, on September 6, 2024. It has six tracks, a focus single called “Run Away,” and one song, “Fly,” for which she is the sole writer. JYP Entertainment presents the project as the third TWICE solo release after Nayeon and Jihyo, and as a record meant to show “everything about TZUYU.”
What the album is called and why
The title is a combination of “about” and “TZUYU.” JYP’s description treats it as a concept: the album is a portrait of her, built around the idea of telling listeners about who she is. The label frames it as Tzuyu’s solo debut and first mini album, which places it as a step in TWICE’s solo sequence rather than as the first time she has been involved in making music. The supported claim is narrower and more useful: this is her first solo mini album, and she is the sole writer of one of its six songs.
Tracklist and credits
The album runs six tracks. The label’s listing gives the order below. Credits are included only where the official release material states them; other entries are marked as not stated rather than inferred.
| No. | Track | Featured artist | Writing credit stated by JYP Entertainment |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Run Away | None listed | J.Y. Park (focus / title track) |
| 2 | Heartbreak In Heaven | PENIEL of BTOB | Not stated |
| 3 | Lazy Baby | pH-1 | Not stated |
| 4 | Losing Sleep | None listed | Not stated |
| 5 | One Love | None listed | Not stated |
| 6 | Fly | None listed | Tzuyu (sole writer) |
Two tracks feature guest artists, and the label credits Tzuyu alone with the lyrics and composition of “Fly.” Writing credits for the remaining songs are not stated in the official album information, so readers should not assume any particular division of songwriting beyond what is listed above.

“Run Away” and the synth-pop framing
“Run Away” is the focus track, and JYP describes it as a modern reinterpretation of synth-pop and dance. The label points to an opening piano melody, a four-on-the-floor beat, and a synth bass line in the chorus. Those are the label’s own descriptions of the arrangement; they are a useful guide to what the single is trying to do, but they are not an independent critical review.
The lyrics, as JYP summarizes them, follow a speaker who has waited a long time and then decides to open their heart and give all their love. The song is credited to J.Y. Park.

“Fly” and Tzuyu’s songwriting credit
“Fly” is the closing track and the one most relevant to Tzuyu’s authorship. JYP states that she solely wrote it, and describes its lyrics as hopeful and fairytale-like. This is the most clearly sourced point about her creative role on the record, and it is narrower than a general claim that she writes her own music. NME’s interview with Tzuyu about the debut is the best place to read how she herself describes writing the lyrics; check her words against the full article.
Physical editions
The official TWICE Japan site announced a preorder on August 6, 2024, with two versions. Both include a CD-R and a photobook, plus randomly selected collectible inclusions. The version names are the only official difference the announcement draws between the two.
| Version | Core contents (per official Japan notice) | Price in the Japan preorder |
|---|---|---|
| abouTZU (Run ver.) | CD-R, photobook, randomly selected photocards and posters, and other collectible inclusions | ¥3,080 including tax (Japan preorder price announced August 2024) |
| abouTZU (Fly ver.) | CD-R, photobook, randomly selected photocards and posters, and other collectible inclusions | ¥3,080 including tax (Japan preorder price announced August 2024) |
The notice lists the collectible items as a photo film, a printed photo, an interview poster, a stamp sticker, an envelope, and a lenticular photocard, with specific items varying by random selection. The same notice gives September 6, 2024 as the Korean release date. The announcement does not state that the two versions contain different songs, so treat the edition names as a difference in packaging and inclusions rather than in the music.
Checking availability and price today
The ¥3,080 figure is a historical preorder price from 2024 for the Japan shop, not a current price. Stock, seller listings, and included goods change after a release window closes, and the notice does not establish what is currently available from any retailer. If you are buying now, check the seller’s listing for the exact version, its included items, and the region it ships to before paying.
