Season counts describe the run reported in that coverage. Where the reviewed sources do not establish a count, the table says so rather than inferring one.

What counts as canceled—and what does not
This roundup uses “canceled” for a reported decision by a network or streamer not to order another season. That can include a series that has reached a natural stopping point; the label describes the renewal decision, not necessarily an abrupt ending. Rotten Tomatoes says its tracker follows this kind of definition and may leave uncertain cases marked renewed until a new decision is known.

A planned final season is different: the show is ending, but the ending was announced as the intended conclusion rather than as a non-renewal. TV Guide’s July roundup, for example, treated The Morning Show’s announced final season and Colin From Accounts’ planned conclusion after its third season separately from cancellations. Neither belongs in the cancellation list above on the basis of those announcements alone.

Just Jared’s September 6 roundup counted 46 TV shows canceled in 2026 as of its publication date. That is the publisher’s tally, not an independently audited industry-wide total. The dated entries above are the cancellations specifically established by the reviewed coverage; that coverage does not provide a complete record for every country, service or category through October 8.
