The April 2024 announcement was a plan, not a completed launch. Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) said it would build a live-TV platform for Truth Social, later branded Truth+. The service rolled out in stages beginning in August 2024, adding standalone web, mobile and connected-TV offerings, live channels, video on demand and playback tools. Its lineup and availability still depend on country, device and content rights.
What TMTG announced on April 16, 2024
TMTG announced a live-TV streaming platform after testing on its web and iOS services. The company said the planned service would carry news networks, religious programming, family-friendly films and documentaries, along with other material it characterized as canceled, suppressed or at risk of removal from larger platforms. Those descriptions were TMTG’s positioning, not independent findings that particular programs had been censored.
Devin Nunes was TMTG’s chief executive at the time. The company presented the project as an alternative distribution outlet for producers who believed larger technology platforms disadvantaged their content. The original announcement did not provide a complete channel list, detailed licensing agreements, a firm universal launch date or a clearly stated price. TMTG’s April 16 announcement described a three-phase rollout:
- Live streaming inside Truth Social on Android, iOS and the web.
- Standalone over-the-top phone and tablet applications.
- Applications for televisions and connected-TV devices.
How the proposal became Truth+
The product moved beyond the proposal stage, but not in one simultaneous launch. TMTG first used the Truth Social experience for linear channels, then introduced a separate Truth+ service with on-demand programming and additional playback functions.

Truth Social streaming versus the standalone Truth+ service
Live TV inside Truth Social
The first phase placed linear channels within the Truth Social website and apps. TMTG described standalone channels, picture-in-picture viewing and the ability to watch while browsing the social network. This is the experience referred to in the original 2024 headline.

The Truth+ product
Truth+ became the branded streaming service separate from the embedded social-feed experience. TMTG’s October 2024 description added on-demand titles, rewind, seven-day catch-up viewing, network DVR and Spanish-language interface support. Features can differ by platform, so seeing a live channel in Truth Social does not prove that every Truth+ playback feature is available on the same device.
What content was promised and what was later reported
Broad original targets
- Live news.
- Religious channels and programs.
- Family-friendly movies and documentaries.
- Content TMTG said was canceled, suppressed or vulnerable to removal elsewhere.
The April announcement treated these as programming goals, not a complete, confirmed channel guide. It did not establish how many channels would launch, which programs were licensed or whether every category would be available in every market.

The filings also refer to additional live channels, including Nothing But Sportz, Retro and In Touch. These are company-reported additions rather than an independently audited channel list. The 2025 expansion details appear in the relevant SEC filing.
Where Truth+ is available
The announced rollout covered web browsers, Android, iOS, standalone phone and tablet apps and television applications. TMTG later reported Roku distribution and availability in Canada and Mexico as well as the United States. TMTG said it built a proprietary or custom content-delivery network and moved beta streaming onto that infrastructure. The company presented the CDN as a way to reduce reliance on major technology platforms. The announcements establish that TMTG launched a company-described CDN; they do not independently establish its scale, uptime, resilience, picture quality or performance under heavy demand.

Pricing, accounts and what remains unclear
The materials establishing the rollout do not provide a current universal subscription price or definitive plan structure. They also do not establish whether the service is universally free, advertising-supported, subscription-based or divided into tiers. Confirm the offer shown at truthplus.com and in the relevant app before entering payment details.
Account requirements may differ between embedded Truth Social streaming and standalone Truth+. Readers should verify whether a Truth Social account is required for the specific device and product they intend to use. Pricing, advertising, premium-content rules, registration requirements and regional restrictions should be treated as live product details, not assumptions from the 2024 announcement.
Is Truth+ a replacement for cable or a major live-TV bundle?
Nothing in the cited announcements establishes that Truth+ matches a conventional pay-TV bundle’s breadth of local stations, major sports rights, premium networks or nationwide channel coverage. Its potential fit is narrower: viewers interested in the available news, faith, family, alternative-news or other reported programming who also have a supported device and location.
Questions to check before watching
- Does the current lineup contain the specific channels or programs you want?
- Is your television, streaming box, phone or browser supported?
- Are the desired channels licensed in your country?
- Do you need live viewing, on-demand access, catch-up, rewind or DVR?
- What price, advertising model and account requirement are shown at sign-up?
- Are you comfortable linking a social-media account to a television service, if required?
For a user who can see live TV in Truth Social but cannot find a separate Truth+ app, the likely explanation is that these are different product layers. For an iOS user missing the feature, updating the Truth Social app was part of the initial rollout. A Roku user may encounter live channels without the full on-demand catalogue because Roku on-demand availability was announced later.

Trump Media’s April 2024 live-TV proposal became Truth+, a phased streaming service that now encompasses embedded Truth Social viewing, standalone web and mobile access and reported connected-TV distribution. The service is real, but the original headline should not be read as an April 2024 launch announcement. Its current usefulness depends on the exact lineup, price, device, account rules and country available when you check.
