AC/DC was scheduled to return to Perth on December 4, 2025, for a concert at Optus Stadium, according to a June 23, 2025 report by PerthNow. That date has passed. The report confirms what was announced, but does not establish whether the show went ahead as scheduled or whether another Perth date has since been announced.
What AC/DC announced for Perth
The Optus Stadium concert was described as the penultimate stop on a five-date Australian leg of the Power Up tour. The scheduled dates were:
- Melbourne — November 12, 2025
- Sydney — November 21, 2025
- Adelaide — November 30, 2025
- Perth — December 4, 2025
- Brisbane — December 14, 2025
PerthNow reported that tickets for the Perth show were due to go on sale through Ticketek at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Its advice at the time to use one device and browser and keep account details current was specific to that historical sale; it is not current ticket-buying guidance.
When AC/DC last played Perth
The June 2025 report said the band had not played Perth since November 2015, when it performed two nights at Subiaco Oval. PerthNow reported a combined attendance of 80,000 for those shows. It also reported that the national tour attracted more than 500,000 people. Those are figures reported by PerthNow, not independently verified attendance records in the available source.

The announced Perth lineup
The Perth lineup named Angus Young, Brian Johnson, Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug and bassist Chris Chaney, whom PerthNow described as formerly of Jane’s Addiction. The tour took its name from AC/DC’s 2020 album Power Up. PerthNow called it the band’s 17th studio album and reported that it became AC/DC’s sixth album to top the ARIA Albums Chart after its release.

Why Western Australia is significant to AC/DC
Western Australia has a connection to the band’s history through Bon Scott. PerthNow reported that Scott lived in Perth from the age of 10 before leaving to pursue a music career. The article characterized the 2025 announcement as coming 52 years after Angus and Malcolm Young started AC/DC.
What the “true spectacle” quote meant
Promoter Christo Van Egmond described the planned concert in advance, telling PerthNow: “The show is bigger and better than anything I’ve seen from the them before, it’s a true spectacle and a right of passage for all Australians to see,” He also said: “The most amount of sound and light I’ve ever seen in any concert and, of course, huge sets and an action-packed show of great AC/DC songs.” These were pre-event promotional comments, not a review written after the Perth concert.
