‘TRON: Ares’ Trailer Features Nine Inch Nails’ First Single From the Film Score

The new TRON: Ares trailer features Nine Inch Nails’ “As Alive As You Need Me To Be,” the first single from the film’s soundtrack album. The trailer arrived July 17, 2025; the movie’s story sends a digital Program into the real world, and the film is now available to stream exclusively on Disney+ in the United States as of January 7, 2026, subject to regional catalog availability.

What the trailer reveals about the music

Disney’s July 17, 2025 announcement identifies “As Alive As You Need Me To Be” as the soundtrack album’s first single and says the track appears in the trailer. Nine Inch Nails’ official trailer page likewise credits the band with original music for TRON: Ares and displays the date 10.10.25.

The trailer’s featured song is one track, not the full score. Nine Inch Nails composed the film’s original motion picture soundtrack, which Disney said was scheduled for release September 19, 2025 through Interscope Records. Disney described it as the first film score released under the Nine Inch Nails band name; Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross had previously composed 20 scores under their own names, according to that same July 2025 announcement.

What TRON: Ares is about

The film follows Ares, a digital Program sent from the Grid into the real world on a dangerous mission. Disney describes the encounter as humankind’s first face-to-face meeting with artificial intelligence. In the collision between digital and human worlds, Ares begins to develop consciousness and conscience.
