What Triple H said about Roman Reigns
At the WrestleMania 40 Sunday post-show press conference, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque described Reigns’s loss as the end of a chapter, not the end of his story. ComicBook.com reported his remarks on April 8, 2024: “It’s not completing the story. It’s just getting to the end of this chapter, because he’s gonna go on a whole new story now that is going to blow people’s minds,” Triple H said.
He also said, “I know he’s going to take it to a whole other level. I can’t tell you how much respect I have for Roman Reigns.” The comments promised a next chapter in broad terms; they did not identify its plot or say when it would begin.
Why the comments followed a major loss
On Night 2 of WrestleMania 40, Rhodes defeated Reigns in the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match. ComicBook.com reported that the result ended Reigns’s Universal Championship reign at 1,316 days. The loss gave Triple H’s “end of this chapter” language its immediate context, but his remarks did not spell out what Reigns would do next.

Did Triple H confirm a feud with The Rock?
No. ComicBook.com speculated that The Rock could be Reigns’s next opponent, drawing on the WrestleMania events, but that possibility was the outlet’s speculation—not a feud Triple H named or confirmed in the quoted remarks. The distinction matters: a tease of a new story is not confirmation of a particular opponent.

In July 2026, Reigns said the Bloodline storyline would continue “Forever, until I’m gone,” according to Fightful’s transcription of his Nightcap appearance. In September 2026, he discussed a possible future run, continuity and younger WWE performers in a Complex interview, as recapped by Wrestling Inc. Those later remarks offer context about Reigns’s thinking, but they do not establish what Triple H intended by the 2024 tease.
