In September 2025, Trick Williams said he felt ready to move from NXT to WWE’s Raw or SmackDown brands. The Sportster, in an article syndicated by Yardbarker, attributed the remarks to an interview on Booker T’s Hall of Fame podcast and reported that Booker and The Undertaker had praised Williams’s potential. Those were reported opinions, not an announcement of a promotion. WWE’s current profile now lists Williams on SmackDown as United States Champion.
What Trick Williams said about moving up
The Sportster/Yardbarker report, updated September 25, 2025, said Williams discussed a possible move from NXT to Raw or SmackDown with Booker T on the Hall of Fame podcast. The report quoted Williams as saying:

“Yesterday couldn’t have been soon enough, man. I’ve been ready to make that jump to the red or blue brand for a long time. I feel like it’s that time, I feel like it’s been that time. I feel like people wanna see that. But as for now, wherever I am, I’m just gonna make sure it’s the hottest show.”
The quotation and podcast attribution come from the September report; the original episode or a transcript was not independently available to confirm them. Williams’s words express his own readiness and view of the audience’s interest, rather than documenting a WWE call-up decision. Read the Sportster report syndicated by Yardbarker.

What Booker T and The Undertaker reportedly said
Booker T’s praise
The same report characterized Booker T as calling Williams “the future” of WWE and quoted him praising Williams’s development as a performer. That is Booker’s reported assessment, not a company statement or a guarantee of a particular role.
The Undertaker’s reaction
The article also described The Undertaker as saying, after an NXT encounter with Williams, that Williams’s future was there for the taking. Because the original social post was not independently located, that wording should be treated as the syndicated report’s account rather than a separately verified verbatim quote.

Why The Undertaker confronted Williams on NXT
WWE’s official preview for the July 22, 2025, NXT episode said Williams had disparaged members of The Undertaker’s LFG team and that Undertaker challenged him to meet in the ring. WWE advertised the episode for 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on The CW. The preview confirms the announced setup for their confrontation; it does not establish an endorsement of Williams as WWE’s future.
