Netflix’s official logline begins with a banking crisis: chartered accountant Tribhuvan Mishra takes up sex work, and the choice threatens to create problems beyond the ones he is trying to solve. The premise puts financial survival and a secret double life at the center of the story.
A July 2024 preview by Scroll adds that Tribhuvan is married to a cake maker, has two children, and has a loyal client who is the wife of a contract kidnapper. Scroll reports that the plot is set in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Those details broaden the premise into a family and crime story; Netflix’s short logline does not specify them.
What does “being heard and being seen” mean in the show?
In Scroll’s interview, creator Puneet Krishna described the series as questioning the assumption that paid sex is sought mainly by men. He asked whether paid companionship could extend beyond physical intimacy, including the possibility that women might seek it from men.
Krishna said the series is about women keen on “being heard and being seen.” He also argued that if men can provide that, society could become more balanced. That is the creator’s stated perspective, not a claim that the series proves a social outcome or that every viewer will read its themes the same way. Netflix’s June 2024 announcement likewise framed the show as an exploration of “the uncharted themes of female agency,” alongside humor, action, and suspense.

Netflix classifies the show across drama, comedy, crime, and thriller, and applies tone labels including offbeat, gritty, dark comedy, ensemble, social issues, thriller, and dramedy. Those are the publication’s reported impressions of the series’ style. Together with the official genre labels, they point to an intentionally mixed tone: comic and colorful in presentation, but shaped by financial desperation and crime.

Who made it, and who stars?
Netflix credits Puneet Krishna as creator, writer, and showrunner. Krishna and Amrit Raj Gupta directed the series; Ram Sampath is credited as producer and music composer, with Anurag Saikia composing the background score. Netflix lists Manav Kaul, Tillotama Shome, and Subhrajyoti Barat among the starring cast, alongside Shweta Basu Prasad, Naina Sareen, Sumit Gulati, Faisal Malik, Shrikant Verma, Jitin Gulati, and Yamini Das.
In Netflix’s June 28, 2024 announcement, Krishna said Tribhuvan’s transformation, driven by desperation and the need to survive, offered a way to explore ethics and the unintended consequences of survival choices. That framing connects the show’s premise to its wider questions about money, intimacy, and responsibility.
