Tracy Morgan’s comedy Crutch premiered on Paramount+ on November 3, 2025, with all eight episodes of its first season available at launch. Set in the world of CBS’s The Neighborhood, it follows Harlem shop owner Francois “Frank” Crutchfield after his adult son and daughter move back into his home.
What is Crutch about?
Frank Crutchfield, known to those close to him as Crutch, is a Harlem widower whose plans for an empty nest are upended when his children return home. Paramount Global Content describes him as a “brash yet beloved Harlem shop owner.” The premise puts the family’s changed living arrangements at the center of the comedy.
Paramount+’s May 6, 2024 series-order announcement described Crutch’s son as millennial and his daughter as free-spirited.
How is it connected to The Neighborhood?
Crutch is set in the world of The Neighborhood, but it follows Crutchfield and his family rather than being a continuation of the same family’s story. When Paramount+ announced the premiere, it also said Morgan would guest-star as Crutch in a same-night episode of the CBS comedy, linking the shows on screen.
