Who kidnapped Matt, and why?

One of Colter’s captors is Vargas, who knows Matt from childhood. Vargas tells him that he and Matt both received suspicious messages apparently intended to turn the Hales and the Lindells against each other. The kidnappers reinforce the threat by sending Ivy a photograph and a tooth as proof they have Matt.

Ivy dismisses Colter and plans to pay the ransom at a subway construction site. But the family feud is a false trail: Casey, Ivy’s cousin and employee, orchestrated the kidnapping and tried to frame the Lindells. He wants control of Ivy’s illegal business as she moves toward making it legitimate. The two published recaps, from Filmibeat and Showbiz Junkies, agree on Casey’s role and the resolution.

How does Colter get Matt back?

Colter divides the rescue effort. He sends Vargas to find Matt while he goes to the subway site to protect Ivy. Casey reveals himself there, and Colter stops him. Casey reaches for a knife on the subway tracks and dies. Vargas frees Matt from the place where he is being held.

What happens between Colter and Reenie at the end?

Ivy tells Colter she hopes to turn legitimate and protect Matt. Reenie brings Colter his $50,000 reward; he says he will donate it because of its connection to illegal activity. At his campsite, he and Reenie have a quiet conversation, and Colter warns her about Elliot’s work with dangerous clients.
