This is a curated listening guide, not a definitive industry leaderboard: it brings together artists from different eras and musical lanes, with a few songs to help you find your way into each catalogue.
How to read this list
The ten names follow the roster in Pinkvilla’s editorial selection, updated March 13, 2025. The source does not set out a consistent ranking method or compare the artists using common measures such as sales, streams or awards, so the order below should not be read as a measured ranking. The selection includes performers whose careers also cross into film, and their musical roles and eras are not interchangeable. Pinkvilla’s list and song examples.

Ten Punjabi singers and where to start listening
1. Diljit Dosanjh
For a starting set, try “Proper Patola,” “Do You Know?,” and “Lover”; Pinkvilla also lists “Clash” and “Laembadgini.” His official site’s current listings include AURA (2025), music releases dated 2026, and the Aura World Tour: India. Those listings are time-sensitive, so check the official website for the latest release and tour information. His place here gives readers an entry point into a catalogue that is still receiving new releases.
2. Sidhu Moose Wala
Pinkvilla’s suggested starting tracks are “Mera Na,” “So High,” and “Same Beef”; its list also includes “Satisfya” and “The Last Ride.” These examples offer a route into his recorded catalogue without implying a ranking against artists from other eras.

3. Jassie Gill
Start with “Nikle Currant,” “Bapu Zimidar,” or “Dil Tutda.” Pinkvilla also names “Gaddi Kaali” and “Gabbroo.” The selection places Gill among its contemporary Punjabi music choices.
4. Gurdas Maan
The District Administration of Sri Muktsar Sahib says “Dil Da Maamla” brought Maan popularity and lists songs including “Chhalla,” “Heer,” and “Ki Banu Duniya Da.” Its profile also describes his work in Punjabi cinema. For a concise introduction, those three tracks show why his name connects Punjabi popular music with a longer career across song and film. Government of Punjab district profile.
Rank #2
5. Gippy Grewal
Pinkvilla’s examples include “Angrezi Beat,” “Phulkari,” and “Car Nachdi,” alongside “Taqdeere” and “Flower.” His inclusion reflects the list’s mix of singers whose work reaches across Punjabi music and film.
6. Yo Yo Honey Singh
For a first listen, Pinkvilla points to “Brown Rang,” “Blue Eyes,” and “Dope Shope”; it also lists “Satan” and “Angrezi Beat.” These selections give readers a few familiar catalogue entry points without treating popularity as a shared ranking metric.

8. Amrit Maan

Rank #4
9. Babbu Maan
Begin with “Dil Tan Pagal Hai,” “Pakki Kanak,” or “Punjab.” Pinkvilla also cites “Raat Chandni” and “Gypsy Kali,” making this a useful first pass through the selections attached to his name in the list.

Who is India’s No. 1 Punjabi singer?
There is no objective universal answer established by this selection. A “number one” depends on what a listener values—career longevity, a particular era, songwriting, performance, or the songs they return to—and the cited list does not compare the ten artists against a common dataset. For discovery, choose the era or tracks that interest you and treat the roster as a set of starting points, not a final verdict.
