Fast X put a wide mix of vehicles on screen, from the franchise’s signature Dodge Charger to a rally-styled Mini and an electric muscle-car concept. This ten-car list is an editorial selection built from production-supervisor interviews and two press reports published in May 2023. It is not an official Universal ranking. Most of the cars were modified, duplicated or replaced by lookalikes for filming, so the car on screen and the road-going model it resembles can differ in important ways.
How this selection was ordered
Universal’s own description of the film makes the point clearly: “In FAST, we cast cars like we cast characters.” (Universal Pictures Home Entertainment press release, July 25, 2023). The order below follows that logic and uses four editorial criteria:
- Screen prominence: how long and how centrally the car is shown.
- Connection to a principal character: whether the car is tied to Dom, Dante or Cipher.
- Distinctiveness of the build: how much the car stands out from what audiences expect.
- Contribution to the locations and action: whether the car anchors a sequence, not just a background shot.
These are editorial criteria, not a scoring system. The reporting does not rank the cars, and the order reflects judgment rather than audience data.
The ten cars
1. Dom’s Dodge Charger
The franchise’s American muscle-car image returns with Dom’s Charger, and it is the anchor of the list. According to The Independent’s May 18, 2023 feature, production used fourteen examples of the classic Charger. US picture-car supervisor Dennis McCarthy said: “The car we always put the most effort into will always be Dom’s Charger.” Model-year labels for this car vary across secondary lists, so this article refers to it simply as Dom’s Charger.

2. Dante’s 1966 Chevrolet Impala
The purple Impala is tied to Dante Reyes, played by Jason Momoa, and it is the car most people will remember from the film’s central race and battle with Dom. McCarthy said: “Dante’s 66 Impala is pretty awesome. It comes into a great battle between Dom and Dante. It’s a four-car race but it’s the Impala that is the one you’re watching.” The Daily Star’s car list also identifies a purple 1966 Impala for Dante.
3. Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV (reported as GT2000)
The Rome sequence features a modified Alfa Romeo. The Independent calls it a GT2000 and says UK/Europe picture-car supervisor Alex King was especially proud of it. The Daily Star calls it a 1971 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV, so the name and vintage are not settled across reports. According to King’s account, the car was modified by Somerset-based Alfaholics and fitted with a 2.3-litre Ford EcoBoost engine and a Mazda manual gearbox. He said it gave “full control of the car” and a “spectacular drive.” Those are his words as reported, not a verified quotation. The powertrain is a film-build modification and should not be read as factory-original.
4. Datsun 240Z
A tuner car appears mid-flip, and McCarthy explained why tuner cars matter to the film: “We brought in a 240Z. You always want a handful of tuner cars. It’s always hard to get everything in there you want as the movie is only an hour and 30 minutes long, but nonetheless, the 240Z was a great addition.” The Daily Star labels its example a 1975 Datsun 240Z. The interview itself does not give a year, so treat that date as the Daily Star’s claim.
5. Lamborghini Gallardo
Three examples of the V10-powered Gallardo were used in the Rome sequence and wrapped in bright chrome gold, according to The Independent. The Daily Star labels the car a 2003 Gallardo, but the interview report does not corroborate that year.

6. Porsche 911 styled as a GT3
This is the list’s most disputed entry. The Independent’s production account says the cars on screen were standard 997-generation 911s modified to look like GT3s, rather than actual GT3s. The source explains that a less expensive base car made sense for vehicles likely to be modified and damaged during filming. The Daily Star instead calls one car a 997-generation GT3 RS and gives powertrain figures. This article follows the production-supervisor account, does not describe the cars as factory GT3s, and omits the disputed engine and output numbers.
7. Hummer H2 armored vehicle
The UK team rebuilt road-going H2s with an armored appearance for the film, and examples are destroyed in the story. This is a screen modification. It says nothing about whether a production H2 is a military vehicle, and it should not be read that way.
8. Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee concept
The Independent identifies this as a future-facing electric muscle-car concept featured in Fast X. McCarthy praised its styling and said he wished there had been more time to put it into an action sequence. It is a concept, not a production model, and the reporting does not establish any consumer availability for it.
9. Mini Countryman rally builds
King’s team bought ten UK Countrymans and modified them to look like rally cars. King said they performed well and were reliable during filming. That is his production account, not an independent road test, and it describes the film builds rather than the standard Countryman.

10. Cipher’s DeLorean prototype
The DeLorean prototype is Cipher’s car, though its role is relatively small. McCarthy told The Independent that production had access to it for only two days because it was in high demand at the time. This is a newer electric sports-car prototype, not the classic DMC-12 from Back to the Future, and the two should not be confused.

Watching the cars at home
Universal’s home-video edition includes vehicle-focused bonus material. The Universal Pictures At Home film page lists the “Xtreme Rides of FAST X” featurette and clips named for the Cannon Car, the Charger, the Fast rides and a 1993 LX Mustang. Universal’s July 25, 2023 press release describes the bonus content as “over one hour” and gives the 2023 release dates: digital on August 1, 2023, and 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on August 8, 2023. Those are the original release dates, so check the current retailer listing and regional format before buying.
