Too Good to Be True is Prajakta Koli’s debut novel, published by HarperCollins India on January 13, 2025. The publisher describes it as a contemporary, feel-good romance about Avani, a romance-loving bookstore worker, and Aman, who seems almost too perfectly matched to the love interests in her books.
What is Too Good to Be True about?
Avani loves romance novels and works in a bookstore. When she meets Aman, he appears to have stepped straight out of the kind of love story she enjoys. But his apparent perfection gives Avani reason to question whether she can trust what is unfolding between them. HarperCollins India frames the premise as a will-they-won’t-they love story; this overview avoids plot details beyond the publisher’s synopsis.

Release, recognition and editions

In a February 13, 2025 announcement, the publisher reported that 150,000 copies had sold within a month and that the book held the No. 1 position on Nielsen India BookScan’s Fiction Bestseller ranking at that time. These are dated publisher-reported claims, not current sales totals or a current ranking.

HarperCollins also announced a special hardback edition for February 2026. That announcement does not establish whether the edition is currently in stock or available from a particular bookseller. Check the edition details and availability with the seller before ordering.
