What happened in the case?
Arrest and initial charges
McCollister was arrested in December 2025. TMZ reported the arrest date as December 23. On February 2, 2026, FOX19 reported that a Warren County grand jury had indicted McCollister on 30 counts and co-defendant Erica Grove on 24 counts, citing the prosecutor. Those were charges at the time of indictment, not findings that every allegation had been proved.
What prosecutors said investigators found
FOX19 reported that the investigation began after a Google tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about explicit material involving children linked to an IP address attributed to McCollister. The station reported that prosecutors said investigators found videos involving McCollister, Grove, and dogs, and later alleged evidence of drugging and sexual assault of a child. These descriptions reflect the prosecution’s account reported at the indictment announcement; they should not be mistaken for judicial findings.

Grove’s proceedings and outcomes are separate from McCollister’s. FOX19 reported on September 23, 2026, that Grove pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual conduct with an animal, was found guilty on two counts each of gross sexual imposition and endangering children, and was found not guilty on eight other counts. Those findings and pleas apply to Grove, not McCollister.
