Who Tomás Rebord is and what the sources cover
Tomás Rebord is an Argentine communicator whose path runs from political militancy at the university toward culture, media and long-form conversation. The main account of that path is a profile by Ayelén Cisneros for Rolling Stone en Español, published November 29, 2022. A follow-up feature by Cisneros, dated September 16, 2023, revisits his program and his approach to interviewing.
Both pieces are historical. They describe his life and projects as they stood in 2022 and 2023. Neither establishes what he is working on in October 2026, so statements about current projects should be checked against newer coverage.
A teenage reading and an early question
The 2022 profile opens with Rebord at 13, reading El hombre mediocre by José Ingenieros in the Almagro neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. He connects the book’s language of ideals to a wish to do something meaningful and worth remembering. That link is his own recollection, reported by Cisneros. It is not an independent explanation of why his career unfolded as it did.

He is also qualified about Ingenieros. He points to the author’s positivist and criminological context while acknowledging the force of the prose. He also names his affection for Almafuerte, which here means the Argentine poet Pedro Bonifacio Palacios, not the band of the same name.
Curiosity as a working habit
The profile frames curiosity as the constant in his life. In his words:
“Tenía opiniones sobre todas las cosas y era vehemente, seguro, pero lo que más tuve toda la vida, y de hecho lo sigo teniendo, es una curiosidad abismal.”
Our translation: “I had opinions about everything and was vehement and sure of myself, but what I’ve had most my whole life, and what I still have, is an abysmal curiosity.”

Militancy as an ongoing commitment
Rebord describes his politics as something that developed gradually rather than as a single conversion. According to the profile, his first approach was to La Cantera Popular, where reading pushed him toward Marxism and historical materialism. He later became involved with La Mella at the University of Buenos Aires. His account includes disagreements and departures from organizations.
Leaving organizations without leaving the commitment
The profile records that he left some groups along the way. What he kept was a commitment he calls militancy, which he understands as taking responsibility for the realities of one’s time and working to change the world. Asked whether he still considers himself a militant, he answered:
“Yo en esos términos sigo siendo militante y lo voy a ser siempre porque creo que nunca me voy a poder desentender de lo que pasa y lo que creo que debería pasar.”

From organizing to culture and narrative
The central shift in the profile is about where his influence sits. Rebord says that through media he found another place from which to have influence, moving from traditional political organizing toward building culture and narrative. He also says he wanted to avoid a style of political communication he found suffocating, one that divides people too quickly into good and bad.
The projects Cisneros names are a radio project with Femigangsta, Caricias significativas, and El Método Rebord. The profile says El Método Rebord is produced by Grupo Criolla for Corta and began in August 2021.

The 2022 profile describes El Método Rebord as long-form conversations with guests from politics, culture and online media. Rebord does not present the format as a contest in which a host corners a guest. He says he is interested in knowing people and seeing what they are made of, and that the promise to the audience is to let them get to know the guest.
The 2023 retrospective repeats that description and questions the moral grandeur sometimes given to the interviewer’s role. It also summarises the guest list as including politicians, artists, writers, communicators and influencers. Cisneros quotes him in that feature:

Our translation: “What matters to me is talking with people and seeing what they’re made of, and what I do when someone comes to El Método is invite them to chat as if they were in my home.”

SaleTitan: The Life of John D. Rockefeller, Sr.
- From the acclaimed, award-winning author of Alexander Hamilton: here is the essential, endlessly engrossing biography of John D. Rockefeller, Sr.—the Jekyll-and-Hyde of American capitalism.
- In the course of his nearly 98 years, Rockefeller was known as both a rapacious robber baron, whose Standard Oil Company rode roughshod over an industry, and a philanthropist who donated money lavishly to universities and medical centers.
- He was the terror of his competitors, the bogeyman of reformers, the delight of caricaturists—and an utter enigma.

Two stages of his work compared
The two stages can be compared on the axes the profiles themselves emphasise. This is an editorial reading of Rebord’s own remarks, not a measurement of audiences or reach.
Quick Recap
| Axis | Political organizing (university period) | Media and culture (from 2021 onward) |
|---|---|---|
| Source of influence | Organizational political activity | Media, culture and narrative |
| Format | Not stated in the profiles | Long-form guest conversation (El Método Rebord) and radio work (Caricias significativas) |
| Stated aim | Commitment to the realities of the time and to changing the world | Getting to know the guest, in place of a style that divides people into good and bad |
What the sources do not establish
- Whether El Método Rebord is still airing, and under what episode count, after the 2023 retrospective.
- Any independently measured audience figure. The numbers above are as reported by Rolling Stone en Español in those years.
- Whether Ingenieros’s book alone shaped his later choices. Rebord ties the reading to his wish for a meaningful life, but the profile does not treat it as the sole cause.
- Exact recordings of the interviews. The quotations are attributed remarks as printed in the two features.
