What Tom Selleck said about texting and email
In the interview, Selleck put it plainly: “I’ve never sent my own email. I had a secretary. I’ve never texted anybody.” The report says his wife, Jillie, sent texts for him. He also described this arrangement as “a certain luxury where I probably couldn’t survive otherwise.”

Why he was talking about writing things down
The interview was tied to You Never Know, Selleck’s memoir from Dey Street Books, a HarperCollins imprint. The April 2024 report said the book was scheduled for release on May 7, 2024. Selleck joked about the contrast between avoiding written communication and promoting a book: “I have a hard time writing things down, which is weird for a guy who’s pushing a book.”
