What should Margot Robbie fans watch today? Start with Barbie (2023), then choose I, Tonya or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood for a very different screen role. October 8 has no established Margot Robbie-specific significance, but it is still a good excuse to revisit a performance you enjoy.
Start with Barbie for a stylized comedy
Directed by Greta Gerwig, Barbie stars Robbie as Barbie alongside Ryan Gosling. Warner Bros. Discovery identifies Robbie as one of the film’s producers as well as a star. The film is based on Barbie by Mattel.
For a viewing choice, this is the colorful, highly stylized option. If you want to revisit Robbie in a central role while taking in a broad comedy, it is the natural starting point.
The official Barbie movie site lists DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD editions. Availability varies by retailer and region, so check the format and playback compatibility where you shop.

Choose another role for a different kind of watch
| Film | Robbie’s role | Viewing mood |
|---|---|---|
| I, Tonya (2017) | Tonya Harding | A biographical drama, rather than Barbie’s stylized comedy. |
| Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) | Sharon Tate | A different performance and film setting from either of the other choices. |
| Barbie (2023) | Barbie | A stylized comedy led by Robbie. |
The roles and years above are listed in Robbie’s Golden Globes biography. This is a short selection, not a ranking or a complete account of her career. Pick by the genre and tone you want tonight.

No date-specific observance, birthday, release anniversary, or news event tied to October 8 is established here. The Golden Globes lists Robbie’s birth date as July 2, 1990, not October 8. Today’s “great day” is best understood as a fan-friendly invitation to watch one of her films, not a claim about the calendar.
