Who is in the Tires cast?
Shane Gillis as Shane
Shane Gillis plays Shane, Will’s cousin and an employee at the family auto-repair business. Shane’s willingness to needle, undermine, and generally unsettle Will gives the show its central workplace-comedy tension: the manager is trying to keep the shop functioning, while one of the people closest to him repeatedly makes that job harder.
Gillis is also one of Tires’ creators. The available production credits list him as a creator, writer, and executive producer, in addition to his starring role. Those are credits for the series; Shane’s abrasive fictional behavior should not be treated as a description of Gillis himself.
#1 Best Overall
Steve Gerben as Will
Steve Gerben plays Will, the nervous and unqualified heir placed in charge of the family’s struggling repair business. Netflix’s description makes Will the show’s managerial center: he is responsible for trying to improve the operation even though he does not appear especially prepared for the task.
Gerben is also credited as a co-creator and writer on the series. His relationship with Gillis’s Shane is the engine of the premise, combining a family dispute with the pressures of an ordinary workplace.
Chris O’Connor as Cal
Chris O’Connor is one of the principal stars listed for Tires and plays Cal. Detailed production credits also identify O’Connor as a consulting producer and writer. Cal is part of the shop’s core ensemble, helping expand the comedy beyond the conflict between Will and Shane.

Netflix Tudum’s Season 2 first-look material highlights returning and guest performers including Thomas Haden Church, Vince Vaughn, Jon Lovitz, Ron White, Steph Tolev, Veronika Slowikowska, and Kilah Fox, alongside Steve Gerben and Shane Gillis. The promotional gallery is useful evidence of the performers featured in the season’s publicity, but it should not be read as a complete official cast list.

That division of credits matters because the series should not be described as solely Gillis’s creation. Its premise and production credits point to a collaboration among the three creators, with the story built around the fictional family business and the Will–Shane relationship.

What is Tires about?
The series is set at a struggling family auto-repair chain. Will, the business’s nervous heir, is tasked with trying to make the operation successful despite his lack of confidence and experience. His cousin Shane works at the business and constantly harasses or disrupts him, turning family friction into an everyday management problem.
That setup gives Tires two overlapping sources of conflict: Will cannot simply separate his personal life from work, and he cannot easily remove Shane from his orbit because Shane is both family and an employee.
