4 Pines describes the beer as an Australian pilsner brewed with Tasmanian-grown Enigma hops. Its product listing gives a strength of 4.0% ABV and bitterness of 24 IBU, and lists a 375 mL can. Does it taste fishy?
The ingredient gives the beer a seaweed link, but that does not mean it tastes like fish. 4 Pines describes the result in terms of salinity, sweetness, umami and a crisp finish. PerthNow reviewer David Johns, writing on 20 October 2023, described a clear golden pour, malt, a slight ocean-spray aroma, a touch of sweetness and subtle umami. Why connect a beer to methane research?

What restoration work does 4 Pines describe?
4 Pines says its 1% for the Planet fund would support the Sea Forest Foundation’s giant kelp restoration work with the University of Tasmania’s Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies. 4 Pines described the pilsner as a limited release, naming Dan Murphy’s, select BWS locations and 4 Pines venues as sales channels.
