Tinie Tempah says he kept recording music while he was away from releasing it, and returned when he felt ready to share new work. In an interview ahead of Fridayz Live’s Perth show in October 2025, he discussed that pause, recent singles and a touring gift of personalised Tim Tams. Fridayz Live has since announced a 2026 break and an intended return in 2027, with no dates or lineup yet established.
Why Tinie Tempah paused music releases
Tempah’s account was not that he stopped making music. Speaking to PerthNow’s Zach Margolius ahead of the Perth Fridayz Live appearance, he said: “Over these years, it’s not like I haven’t been recording music. I have tons of music. I just haven’t felt the urge or the feeling to put it out.”
He described wanting to make songs that last, and said he felt some guilt when looking at listener figures he recalled as five million, three million and two million. PerthNow did not name a platform or time period for those figures, so they should be understood as his recollection rather than verified, comparable audience statistics. The interview also connected his time away from releases with focusing on family and other pursuits.
What new music had Tinie Tempah released?
In the 24 October 2025 interview, PerthNow described “Closer,” featuring Abi Flynn, as released in September 2025, and “Eat It Up,” with Skepsis and Carla Monroe, as released in July 2025. The article said “Energy” was due on 14 November 2025; that was a future release date at the time, and its eventual release status is not established here.

What did he say about personalised Tim Tams?
Tempah said he had been sent personalised Tim Tams while touring in Australia and spoke warmly about the food he had tried: “Everything I’ve tried here is great”. The PerthNow story does not identify who sent the biscuits, the variety, or where they were obtained, so the anecdote does not point to a particular product or retailer.
