Tim Cook was reported in the front rows at Coachella during Harry Styles’ April 2022 performance. That establishes that the Apple CEO was there for the set; it does not establish why he attended, whether he watched all of it, or which songs he heard.
What happened at Coachella?
Styles performed at Coachella in April 2022, and contemporary coverage placed Cook and Apple senior vice president Eddy Cue among the front-row attendees. Variety’s report, republished by Yahoo Entertainment, described the crowd and noted the executives’ presence. It also reported that Styles performed new songs during the set.
So the careful answer to “Listening to Harry Styles?” is that Cook was reported at Styles’ performance. The reporting does not show that he attended specifically for Styles or identify what he listened to.
Why the story resurfaced
A Tech Times article revisited the sighting on April 18, 2023, but the underlying performance and Cook sighting were from 2022—not a newly documented 2023 appearance. Tech Times’ retrospective is dated 2023; the year of publication should not be mistaken for the year of the event.

Business Insider’s report, republished by Yahoo News, also discussed Cook’s appearances at Coachella over the years. It corrected its coverage to clarify that a separate festival video was from 2022, not 2023.
The Samsung event image was altered
In January 2024, a widely shared image appeared to show Cook at Samsung’s Galaxy AI event. AFP traced it to an altered version of the 2022 Coachella photograph; it is not evidence that Cook attended the Samsung event. AFP’s fact-check traced an unaltered version to an April 16, 2022 post connecting Cook to Styles’ set and found other posts and a YouTube video showing him at the performance.
