Who was Anna Grace Phelan?
Phelan was from Jefferson, Georgia. Evans Funeral Home’s obituary says she graduated from Jefferson High School in 2024, worked as a receptionist at Georgia Skin Cancer and Aesthetic Dermatology, and was a member of Galilee Christian Church. The obituary also lists her parents, brother and extended family. Read her obituary.
What happened to Anna Grace Phelan?
The Independent reports that Phelan described numbness on the left side of her face and in her right leg in August 2024. It says she was diagnosed with grade four glioblastoma in September 2024. These details come from reporting about her public updates, not from medical records. The Independent’s report covers her illness journey and death.
In a May 14, 2025 update, according to Moffitt Cancer Center, Phelan said the tumor had grown and surgery was not an option. She died nine days later, on May 23, at age 19, the funeral-home obituary records. Moffitt’s retrospective describes her diagnosis as occurring about eight months before her death. Moffitt Cancer Center’s account recounts her final update.

How did her family announce her death?
News reports say Phelan’s family announced her death through a post on her TikTok account in the days after she died. Her.ie reproduced this sentence from the family’s statement: “It is with great sadness to announce that our beautiful daughter, Anna Grace Phelan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” That is the family’s religious expression. Her.ie’s report reproduces the statement.
What is known about her TikTok audience?
The Independent reports that Phelan had almost 140,000 TikTok followers, while a Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation memorial post describes her as having shared her journey with 400,000 followers. Those figures differ and are not clearly measuring the same thing, so a definitive audience count cannot be established from these accounts. The foundation’s memorial post describes her advocacy.
