Lewis Pullman plays Bob, also identified as Robert Reynolds, in Marvel’s Thunderbolts*. The film’s official materials connect Pullman to that character; Marvel Japan’s later April 8, 2025 trailer-campaign announcement explicitly identifies Sentry as a powerful threat. Those are related reveals, but the later Sentry announcement should not be mistaken for information established by the debut trailer.

Marvel lists Pullman among the film’s cast, and Marvel Japan’s official film page identifies his role as Bob/Robert Reynolds. The character identification is the clearest official answer to the question raised by the trailer campaign: Pullman plays Bob Reynolds. What does the debut trailer establish?
Marvel Japan’s February 10, 2025 announcement introduced the film’s ensemble and trailer, and gave May 2, 2025 as the Japanese theatrical release date. The official materials available here do not establish that the debut trailer itself explicitly names Bob as Sentry. It is therefore more precise to describe the debut as introducing Pullman’s Bob/Robert Reynolds, rather than treating the character’s Sentry identity as a confirmed line or reveal in that specific trailer. Marvel Japan’s February 10 trailer announcement is the contemporaneous campaign reference.
When does Marvel identify Sentry as a threat?
Marvel Japan’s April 8, 2025 campaign announcement explicitly names Sentry as a powerful threat in a later trailer push. This provides the direct official connection between the film’s campaign and Sentry, while preserving the chronology: the Sentry-naming announcement came after the February debut-trailer item. Disney also lists a final trailer under a title that names the May 2 theatrical date. That listing confirms a later official trailer in the campaign, but its title alone does not establish which specific details appear in the footage. Disney’s official final-trailer listing.

Marvel Japan’s official film page identifies Jake Schreier as director and gives May 2, 2025 as the theatrical release date in the Japanese-market context. The same page lists Blu-ray/DVD and 4K UHD editions, providing an official physical-media route for viewers looking for the film at home.
