Spoilers for Pluribus season one, episode seven, “The Gap.” Google Earth historical imagery reportedly shows the words “come back” painted across the cul-de-sac outside Carol’s house—the message at the heart of the episode’s closing turn.
What is the Pluribus spoiler on Google Earth?
The aerial writing reads “come back.” In “The Gap,” Carol has been isolated after administering truth serum to Zosia. After weeks alone, she writes those words on the drive, and Zosia returns. The imagery therefore appears to show a pivotal story detail before the episode aired, rather than merely an incidental mark on a filming location. 9to5Mac reported the wording and scene connection; Slashfilm identified the relevant view as dated August 30, 2024.

Where is Carol’s cul-de-sac?
It is a purpose-built set in the Volcano Cliffs area northwest of Albuquerque, not an ordinary residential street. According to 9to5Mac’s account of Google Earth imagery, an August 2023 view shows the site under construction on relatively barren land, with house frames visible. By August 2024, the set appears complete, with Carol’s green garden, slabs over Helen’s grave, and the writing across the street. These are reported observations of historical imagery, not a claim that every detail remains visible in a current view.
How was the spoiler visible before broadcast?
The clue was reportedly captured in Google Earth’s historical imagery, which lets viewers inspect older satellite views where available. 9to5Mac says Google Earth imagery reaches as far back as 1984 in general, but coverage is not continuous or equally detailed at every location. The relevant report contrasts that historical view with Google Maps’ most recent satellite imagery. Read 9to5Mac’s report for its description and location link.

The dates matter: 9to5Mac describes the construction view as August 2023 and the completed-set image as August 2024; Slashfilm specifies August 30, 2024 for the image with “come back.” The image date is not the episode’s air date.

In an interview reported by Dexerto on December 18, 2025, creator Vince Gilligan said he welcomes people trying to work out what happens next, but added: “People trying to ruin it for other people, that’s where I draw the line.” Writer and director Gordon Smith similarly welcomed people sharing discoveries while keeping them from being imposed on others. Writer and producer Alison Tatlock said speculation and debate are welcome, but distinguished that from finding evidence and spoiling it for everyone. Dexerto reported the interview.
