Spoilers for all eight episodes of The White Lotus Season 3, including the finale.
Here, “worst” means least compelling as a character—not least moral. This ranking weighs development, relationships, performance, payoff, and contribution to the ensemble. A character can be selfish or dangerous and still rank highly if the season makes that behavior revealing to watch.
How this ranking works
The five measures are editorial, not an official HBO scorecard: whether a character changes or reveals new complexity; how their relationships generate tension, humor, or consequence; how effectively the performance conveys contradictions; whether the arc pays off; and how much the character sharpens the season’s themes or other stories. Those measures also keep moral judgment separate from dramatic effectiveness.
The season is an eight-episode Mike White series set at a wellness retreat in Thailand. Warner Bros. Discovery announced its February 16, 2025 debut on HBO and streaming availability on Max; present-day streaming access may differ by territory and date. Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement provides the season and distribution details. The ensemble below follows the named guest and staff characters in TheWrap’s cast guide; it is not a claim to rank every speaking or recurring character.

The Season 3 characters, ranked
10. Sritala — Lek Patravadi
The resort co-owner responsible for its wellness program is an effective piece of the setting: she embodies the polished business of selling calm. But among this group, the available character framing gives her less personal conflict and less relationship-driven development to weigh than the guests and workers around her. She helps define the world more than she becomes one of its richest individual studies.
9. Mook — Lalisa Manobal
Mook, a health mentor at the resort, has a clear connection to Gaitok and a role that places her inside the retreat’s wellness culture. That makes her useful to the ensemble, but a strong premise alone does not equal a fully developed arc. She lands lower because the season’s other central relationships carry more of the dramatic weight.
Rank #2
- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
8. Gaitok — Tayme Thapthimthong
As a security guard with a crush on Mook, Gaitok sits at the junction of personal longing and the resort’s working life. That position gives his choices stakes beyond the wealthy guests’ vacation problems. He remains a supporting presence, though, and his contribution is more tightly tied to the surrounding story than to a broad transformation of his own.
7. Kate Bohr — Leslie Bibb
Kate is the cheerful, gossip-loving member of the old-friends trio, and that social fluency gives her scenes an immediate spark. She also helps establish how the women relate to one another on their Thailand trip. Her defining trait, however, can make her feel more like a catalyst in the group than the season’s deepest individual portrait.

6. Jaclyn Lemon — Michelle Monaghan
Jaclyn’s fame as an actor adds a useful complication to a reunion with old friends: the group knows her as both a person and a public figure. Her place beside Laurie and Kate lets the season explore how intimacy, envy, and performance can coexist in long-standing friendships. The character is compelling in that dynamic, even when the story’s strongest emotional turns belong elsewhere.
5. Saxon Ratliff — Patrick Schwarzenegger
The eldest Ratliff son works for his father, and his confidence makes him an abrasive presence in the family vacation. That is not the same as being a weak character. Saxon’s value is the way he exposes the family’s assumptions and gives the Ratliffs’ privileged bubble a particularly unsettling edge. His appeal is less about likability than about how sharply he functions in the family drama.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
4. Piper Ratliff — Sarah Catherine Hook
Piper’s religious-studies background gives the Ratliff family story a different register from business, status, and money. Her perspective makes the retreat’s wellness setting more than scenery: it puts questions of belief and self-understanding into the family’s orbit. She earns a high place for the contrast she brings, even as the season’s most forceful arcs belong to characters whose choices drive more immediate consequences.
3. Laurie Duffy — Carrie Coon
Laurie arrives as a divorced lawyer on a trip with old friends, but the role becomes most interesting through the history and tension embedded in that friendship. She is a sharp counterweight to Jaclyn and Kate, and the trio’s conversations make the gap between shared memories and present-day self-presentation palpable. Laurie’s strength is relational: she helps turn a vacation among friends into a study of how well people really know one another.

2. Belinda Lindsey — Natasha Rothwell
Belinda’s return connects Season 3 to the first season, where Tanya’s betrayal left her wary of trusting and dreaming again. In Thailand, she travels to the property for work and a small vacation, making the trip an investment in both her career and herself. In a TIME interview published January 24, 2025, Rothwell described the character’s movement this way: “We see Belinda bloom, and I think that’s a consequence of being abroad.” That is the actor’s interpretation, not a definitive ranking—but it captures why Belinda’s arc carries such emotional weight. Her season makes a past wound matter without making it the only thing that defines her.
1. Rick Hatchett — Walton Goggins
Rick is the season’s most compelling character because his disillusionment and guardedness turn his relationship with his younger girlfriend, Chelsea, into a steady source of tension. He travels with reasons that are initially clear mainly to him; that opacity makes his presence feel charged rather than merely moody. The performance gives the character’s contradictions room to register, while the arc’s payoff reframes what his journey means. Rick may not be the most likable person at the retreat, but he is the character whose inner life most powerfully shapes the season’s dramatic momentum.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What makes the ranking subjective
Different viewers may put Belinda first for her growth, or favor the Ratliffs for the way family privilege drives the show’s unease. Those are reasonable alternatives because the ranking depends on what a viewer values: emotional resolution, social observation, performance, or sheer dramatic tension. HBO’s official companion podcast includes cast discussions and a Mike White retrospective on the finale, identity, Buddhism, and his experiences in Thailand; it offers additional context, not an official verdict on which character is best.
