The result is specific to the 2025 contest, not an all-time or current ranking.
How the 2025 vote finished
The sponsored feature reports that more than 40 Western Australian venues were nominated and the competition received almost 900 public votes. It names the three top finishers in this order:
- First: Lobster Shack Cervantes
- Second: The Cray Belmont
- Third: The Cray Currambine
The feature does not state the winner’s vote total or explain detailed voting and verification rules, so it does not establish the size of the winning margin or describe an independent judging panel. The PerthNow feature says the Cervantes restaurant opened in 2010 and serves around 65,000 lobsters each year. That is an approximate figure reported in the sponsored story, rather than an independently verified current count.
General Manager Nikki Thompson described the business as rooted in a family fishing tradition reaching back to the 1960s and the old shacks at Green Island/Grey. She also described a relaxed, welcoming, family-friendly seafood experience and its “pot-to-plate” approach, bringing “fishing, processing, tourism and hospitality together under one roof.” Thompson’s remarks are attributed statements in the feature; the article does not independently document the family history.
What the award does—and does not—tell diners
The award identifies the winner of the 2025 public-voted competition.
