Blake Shelton tops TV Insider’s April 13, 2026 ranking of 23 coaches from The Voice; Dan + Shay place last. That order is one outlet’s editorial judgment, not an official result or a consensus. It predates Season 30, which NBCUniversal announced with Queen Latifah and Riley Green joining Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine.
How to read this ranking
The show calls its on-air mentors “coaches,” though viewers often search for them as judges. TV Insider’s ranking weighs a coach’s record and appeal, but no neutral source establishes a definitive order of coaching ability. Its April 13, 2026 article reports nine wins for Shelton and four for Clarkson; those totals are evidence of competition results, not a complete measure of mentorship or entertainment value. The list below preserves TV Insider’s published sequence rather than presenting a new, supposedly objective score.

What “best” means on The Voice
The show’s format gives coaches several roles, but it does not make their jobs directly comparable in every round. In blind auditions, coaches hear singers before seeing them; The Voice Casting says decisions are based on voice rather than looks. Coaches then mentor artists and choose who advances through early stages, while viewers vote during the live phase.
The official casting page describes the four stages as blind auditions, battles, knockouts and live performance shows. A useful assessment can therefore consider artists’ wins and finalists, success relative to seasons coached, and less quantifiable qualities such as mentoring and on-screen presence. No single win total settles the question.

How the list relates to Season 30
NBCUniversal’s September 17, 2026 announcement names Queen Latifah, Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine as Season 30 coaches. Because TV Insider’s list was published in April and covers 23 coaches, it does not rank Latifah or Green. Their placement cannot be inferred from the older list.
